Panamanian golden frogs are critically endangered, partly due to human development and habitat loss. They are extremely poisonous. I was drawn by the juxtaposition of power and vulnerability, how something so dangerous for humans can also be threatened by us to such an extreme, while requiring our support to survive.

Johanna Kets is a London-based self-taught artist. Her work mainly focuses on the natural world and the way humans interact with nature. Colour and form is used to celebrate beauty in the unexpected. Different textural areas are guide and connect with the viewer in an intuitive way.
