Oil Paint

21 cm x 29 cm

I chose to feature the Deaths-Head Hawkmoth in this painting because it symbolises the element of darkness and desolation of the Amur Leopard being critically endangered. The expression of the animal shows its vulnerability, being overshadowed by the moth. The shadow reaches out to the Leopard, indicating that its going to die.

Art is something that I am passionate about because of the freedom and creativity that comes with it. I am currently in my first year of six form where I was introduced to oil paints and have not stopped using the medium since. I want to study art further in the future.
