Over Christmas time in Queensland and New South Wales we had terrifying bushfires that destroyed so many of our forests. One of the worst affected species was our koalas. I created this painting to raise awareness of the threat of global warming to our beautiful koalas.

I am an 11 year old, year 6 student at Reddam House in Sydney Australia. I love drawing and painting, art is my favourite subject at school. In Australia we have an art competition called the Threatened Species Childrens Art Competiton which highlights Australian vulnerable species. Unfortunately this competition isnt running in 2020.
