Oil paint on paper
21 cm x 29 cm
The Kakapo is a nocturnal, flightless parrot from New Zealand. Only 210 adults remain, every one named and tagged, so I wanted the focus to be this individuals face, staring right at the viewer from the darkness. I painted them as the pandemic postponed my travel plans to visit them.
At 24, Elizabeth has painted with oils for nearly a decade, but drew animals since she could hold a pencil. Drawn to the natural world, she aims to capture the unique spirit of each subject. Her work featured in a number of student galleries whilst studying at Cambridge University.
Items usually despatched within 3-8 working days. Price includes VAT and UK postage. International postage charged at £5 - please enquire. Artwork sold unframed. Mock Up images not to scale. All profits donated to Explorers Against Extinction (registered UK charity No 1177505).
