Inspired by the arrival of Mutaanzi David after Chamilandu returned to the boma to give birth to the first calf for the Elephant Orphanage project, Zambia, set up by David Shepherd. Her mating with a wild bull 24 months earlier coincided with the death of DS. Keepers believe his spirit lives on in the calf. Magical.

As a retired Veterinarian, I have time to indulge my passion for wild animals through painting. In 2018 I spent 3 weeks volunteering at Lilayi Elephant orphanage, Zambia. The best 3 weeks of my life. I returned last year as artist in residence. 20 percent of sales now go to DSWF.
