The Giraffe (Giraffa) has intrigued various cultures, both ancient and modern, for its peculiar appearance. It is an African artiodactyl mammal, traditionally considered to be one species, Giraffa camelopardalis, with nine subspecies. It is classified by the IUCN as vulnerable to extinction. Giraffes are found in numerous national parks and game reserves.
